Fence Installation Checklist

Below is a list of items and information to help ensure a smooth and successful fence installation process.

●  First and foremost, determining your property lines prior to installing a fence is crucial to avoid potential legal, financial, or practical issues. You can do this by locating your property pins yourself or by hiring a licensed land surveyor.

●  Before proceeding with installation plans, we recommend you make yourself aware of any restrictions that apply in your subdivision, city, and/or county.

● If necessary, it is the homeowner’s responsibility to obtain the Homeowners Association’s approval.

●  Is the proposed fence line clear of any bushes, trees, or other obstructions? Please note that additional charges may apply if our crew needs to remove any obstacles in order to proceed with the fence installation.

● Do you prefer any clearance between the bottom of the fence and the ground, or would you like to minimize gaps? Please be aware that having consistent clearance or eliminating gaps entirely may not always be possible due to uneven terrain.

●  Do you have a swimming pool or plans for building one? If so, will it be screened in? For all open pools, gates must swing outward and be self-closing to comply with pool code regulations.

●  A service that Venture Fence offers is locating public utilities. We will order a utility locator to mark electrical lines, cable TV/internet lines, phone lines, and gas lines. The utility locate company will not locate irrigation (sprinklers), water, sewage or any other private utilities. Considering this, Venture Fence will not assume responsibility for damage to any unmarked underground items during the installation.

● Once the utility locate has been ordered, you may or may not see flags/spray paint markings indicating underground utility lines. If you do, and they conflict with the proposed fence line, please call us right away. Florida State Law prohibits any digging within 24 inches of public utility markers.

● We ask that you be present for as much of the installation as possible, especially during the first hour. This allows us to go over the layout, confirm the exact location of the gates, which way the gates swing, and address other important details. Any changes to the contract must be made in advance and have written approval. Changes to layout or adding additional footage on the day of the installation will result in additional fees.

●  A 50% deposit, along with a signed copy of the contract is required to process your order.

●  For standard stock items, your installation will be scheduled once the deposit and signed contract have been received.

●  For non-standard items, a deposit greater than 50% may be required, and materials will need to be ordered prior to scheduling an installation date.

●  Once the fence has been installed, the remaining balance will be due.
